Naomi's story

“Nothing compares to the pride and satisfaction of helping others”

Naomi began her career as a Care Assistant, excelled as a CHAP and is now Acting Home Manager at Rosemount care home in Whitley, Tyne & Wear. Here, Naomi shares her story.

Naomi says:

“I was a Care Assistant for four years working in residential and nursing homes while completing my NVQ in care and cooking. I then progressed onto Team Leader looking after a 20-bedded physically disabilities unit for young people while doing my nurse training.

I started working for Four Seasons in 2016 as a Registered Nurse and have progressed to Clinical Lead, Deputy Manager and now Home Manager.

I enjoy every aspect of working in care and I have done just about every role at some point. I find it a great privilege to be able to help and support individuals - nothing compares to the pride and satisfaction of helping others.

I have been both a CHAP Mentor and a Home Manager, both of which appealed to me because I love to teach, share my knowledge and learn from others. I also find it very rewarding to help guide somebody and see them develop and grow. The programme allows people to see care provisions from all aspects including incident analysis, quality of life, wound care, leadership and management and customer care.

I would advise anyone with the right skills and personality to embrace the CHAP role, it’s a fantastic opportunity for anyone wanting to learn and develop or further progress in their career and you get lots of support with Four Seasons. I’m currently working towards becoming a Home Manager.”
