An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Regional Clinical Trainer in South England. The role will work within the Learning and Development Department, Clinical Learning Team with six regional clinical trainers across the UK.  The Clinical Learning Team is a friendly, dynamic and forwarding thinking team that launched in March 2018.

The post holder will work primarily across Homes within the South East region to support the recruitment, retention, training, supervision and continuing professional development of our nurses, as part of the FSHC Nurse Academy.  There will be some travel UK wide.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To develop and deliver high quality clinical skills training for FSHC nurses as part of the Nurse Academy portfolio of education and training. Job levels will span from clinical and care front line to operational clinical management, where appropriate
  • To work in conjunction with the Clinical Learning Manager and wider clinical learning team to design and deliver key learning initiatives:
  • On-boarding and induction for the operational clinical teams
  • Clinical job skills development
  • Nurse Preceptorship
  • Supporting Nurse and CHAP continuing professional development, support and supervision
  • Clinical leadership and management development
  • Supporting the delivery OSCE training for International Nurses

Job Requirements

Key Knowledge and Experience:

  • An experienced and highly competent Registered Nurse with a range of clinical experience and evidence of recent continuing professional development; ability to act as an advocate and role model for nurses across FSHC
  • Be able to demonstrate enthusiasm for teaching and learning
  • Evidence of teaching in a clinical setting to small and large groups
  • Evidence of planning, developing and delivering a wide range of clinical skills training using a range of blended, interactive and innovative approaches to learning
  • Effective time management and organisational skills with the ability to readily adapt within a fast paced and challenging environment
  • Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work with and influence a wide range of stakeholders and colleagues within and outside of the business
  • Ability to think strategically and be proactively involved in the development of clinical policies, quality improvement and practice development initiatives across the wider L&D and Operational teams
  • Ability to work flexibly, under pressure and to deadlines
  • Team player but also able to work independently, able to make sound judgements and decisions within own scope of practice and role


The role is paying up to £46,000 per annum and comes with 30 days holidays plus bank holidays. A full UK driving licence is required. This role is mobile and will require regular travel around a geographical region and this role comes with a car.
