An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Internal Auditor, taking a position within a developed Four Seasons independent audit and assurance team. Reporting directly into the Audit Manager, this is a rare chance to join an award winning business who are at the forefront of innovation in the independent health and social care market. New opportunity is a fixed term contract with a view to becoming permanent.

We are currently focusing on enhancing our current central independent audit and assurance team to provide UK wide assurance regarding finance, quality, strategy and risk. This role will focus on the development of these services across Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Northern England or Southern England. If successful, you will be responsible for the delivery and development of a high quality audit approach and will work closely with key internal stakeholders.

Job Requirements

Key Responsibilities 

  • Perform and undertake audits covering finance, quality, strategy and risk within care homes and at a corporate level, in line with approved audit plan.
  • Assist with the development of audit scopes, audit programmes, delivery and reporting.
  • Obtain, analyse and evaluate documentary evidence.
  • Document processes and controls in a systematic and logical manner.
  • Maintain objectivity and independence at all times.
  • Support the Senior Auditor with financial investigations as and when required.
  • Conduct follow up reviews of action plans and other recommendations.
  • Complete assigned testing responsibilities.
  • Ensure that audit working papers are completed to the required standard in line with appropriate and relevant audit methodologies and requirements.
  • Ensure that audits are properly planned.
  • Prepare professional reports summarising audit findings and recommendations.
  • Act as ambassadors for quality assurance systems including Quality of Life and Datix to ensure their effective and regular use within the homes.
  • Act as an objective source of independent advice, sharing best practice across the organisation.
  • Ensure that audits are delivered on time.
  • Support the Head of Assurance and the Audit Manager in meeting demands of the business.

Skills / knowledge / experience

  • Previous experience in an audit role. (Desirable)
  • Appropriate and recognised professional qualification or part-qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIIA). (Desirable)
  • Knowledge and experience of performing risk-based audits.  (Desirable)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with specific focus on writing and delivering reports. (Essential)
  • Ability to work with flexibility to meet competing deadlines. (Essential)
  • Experience of using data analytics within audit work. (Desirable)
  • Good influencing skills and the ability to be assertive (Essential)
  • Experience of prioritising own workload, working with minimal supervision and working to strict deadlines (Essential)
  • Proficiency in the use of Word, Excel and PowerPoint packages (Essential)

 Other requirements

  • Able and prepared to work outside normal office hours including regular overnight stays.
  • Holding a full driving licence and is prepared to travel as required to FSHC sites.
