Reporting to the Head of Procurement, you are required to lead and manage the supplier sourcing selection, commercial contract negotiations and performance management of suppliers to deliver commercially beneficial and industry leading solutions and service to the Group.

Key Tasks

1.Identifying and delivering procurement opportunities, increasing quality and value for money.

2.Promote, develop and implement strategic sourcing for category, responsible for contract, implementation, performance and risk management.

3.Production of professional category plans

4.Work continually to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the procurement department

5.Use robust project management techniques to ensure changes are implemented smoothly

6.Contribution to the provision of technical procurement expertise and exemplary service to internal stakeholders

7.Develop strong relationships with internal customers and external consultants and suppliers

8.Develop reporting and analysis to track savings and performance

Job Requirements

In order to be successful as a buyer you must show demonstration of commercial awareness, negotiation acumen to achieve commercial savings balanced with excellent service and quality.

Be resilient, determined and professional, calm under pressure and in difficult situations.

Have experience of developing and implementing robust SPM strategies. Experience of multi-site geographically spread business, and a passion for service delivery of a category.

You need strong organisational skills and methodical approach to problem solving. Production of professional documentation, for example category plans, project plans and Communication strategies.

Experience of working in the Care Home sector would be of an advantage.

The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level and working towards CIPS or MCIPS. It would also be desirable for the candidate to have Prince 2 qualification.
