An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Audit Manager to join Four Seasons Health Care to develop and lead a newly structured audit function within the wider assurance team. Reporting directly to the Head of Assurance and working closely with senior stakeholders, the Audit Manager will play a significant role in establishing and fostering a strong audit framework by leading a team that provides risk-based and objective assurance, advice and insight.

Job Requirements

Key Responsibilities


  • Work with the Head of Assurance and senior stakeholders to devise and implement a comprehensive risk-based audit plan, covering quality, finance, strategy and risk.
  • Work with the Head of Assurance to implement and oversee a framework for the audit team to operate within.
  • Oversee individual audits including development of scopes, audit programmes, delivery and reporting.
  • Line management responsibility for a team of auditors, including internal auditors and care/clinical auditors.
  • Present findings and recommendations from audits to senior stakeholders.
  • Provide regular updates and reports with regards to implementation of the audit plan.
  • Perform and undertake audits as and when required.
  • Formulate and assist with delivery of personal development plans for direct reports.
  • Planning and allocating resources and individuals in accordance with skills and schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with appropriate and relevant audit methodologies and requirements.
  • Work with Assurance Manager to further the objectives of the wider Assurance Team.
  • Support the Head of Assurance in meeting demands of the business.


Skills / knowledge / experience


  • Previous experience in an audit role. (Essential)
  • Experience of leading, managing and coaching members of staff.  (Essential)
  • Appropriate and recognised professional qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIIA). (Desirable)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with specific focus on writing and presenting complex reports. (Essential)
  • Ability to work with flexibility to meet competing deadlines. (Essential)
  • Knowledge of care sector regulatory frameworks. (Desirable)
  • Experience of using data analytics within audit work. (Desirable)
  • Good influencing skills and the ability to be assertive (Essential)
  • Experience of prioritising own workload, working with minimal supervision and working to strict deadlines (Essential)
  • Proficiency in the use of Word, Excel and PowerPoint packages (Essential)

Other requirements

  • Able and prepared to work outside normal office hours including occasional overnight stays.
  • Holding a full driving licence and is prepared to travel as required to FSHC sites.
