As the Regional Maintenance Person you will positively promote excellent health and safety standards within and around our homes, supporting the home manager to maintain a safe environment for residents in our care. This covers Four Seasons Health Care and Brighterkind care homes in Reading, Basingstoke and Bracknell.

Responsibilities and duties:

  • Responsible for the installation or repair and maintenance of Company property and equipment and undertake planned maintenance of the home in tandem with Home Maintenance Personnel and in consultation with the Home Manager, working within defined Policies and Procedures.
  • Advise, support and manage Home Maintenance personnel in conjunction with Home Manager and Property Manager
  • Carry out daily maintenance and repairs to damaged/faulty company property or equipment prioritizing own workload
  • To communicate effectively with all team members and Property Manager
  • May be required to lift pull push heavy items with/without mechanical aids in line with H&S policy and procedure
  • Assemble /install new equipment/goods delivered to a home.
  • Be willing to undergo suitable training as prescribed by the employer to enable weekly, monthly and all other mandatory checks in accordance with Company policies and procedures and ensure all legislative log-books are maintained and in good condition for inspection at all times.
  • Follow guidance issued by the Regional Property Manager and Home Manager to ensure call outs to contractors are minimized.
  • Attend mandatory training days / courses, on or off site, as and when required including mandatory e learning.
  • Understand and ensure the implementation of the Home’s Health and Safety policy, and Emergency and Fire procedures.
  • To assist with the fire and water risk assessments and reviews.
  • Cover for annual leave / absence in other Care Homes as and when appropriate.
  • Induct new team members on Fire Safety and training including the use of evacuation matts and fire drills as required
  • Train Team Members in the safe and correct use of new equipment as required
  • Attend the home for emergency call outs out of hours as required

Job Requirements

As a Maintenance Person what do you need to do to make this happen?

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • A genuine interest in promoting independence and life style opportunities for older people as well as being able to work unsupervised.
  • Will need to be confident and enthusiastic enough to carry out fault finding and basic repairs to equipment.
  • The successful candidate will require a Full Driving Licence.

The role is 37.5 hours a week. The Salary is £21,500 per annum. A company van, a fuel card and tools will also be provided.
